He can't. They made it more clear in the novel. That sword is sealed for 2 reasons: 1st - the sword is in a weakened state after hundreds of years. The sword spirit Hua Wu (Fire Dance) is almost dead. So she/it is sleeping in Tan Yun's sea of conciousnes and will very, very slowly recover. Of course if Tan Yun can become a god again, he can immediately infuse her with his divine energy - no problem, but he is no longer a god, and he has no divine energy. Since so many of his loyal followers who loved him died, Tan Yun is desperate to save any remnant souls he encounters...and he does encounter a few...As a loyal friend to Hua Wu - who is one of his many loyal subordinates who were destroyed by his death, His only hope right now is for her to recover.

2nd - It is stated explicitly (in the novel) that right now he is far, far too weak to weild her anyway. So, don't expect him to whip out the magic sword for the easy win.
